A NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPER OF THESE MISTERKIT COLORS
WWI ACFT COLOR SERIES:

MISTERKIT ACRYLIC COLORS Background Info:
Since the first Injected Molded Plastic WWI Aircraft Kits sold in the U.S. there never has been a complete Line of Hobby Paint COLORS Specifically Matched to these Aircraft and their Unique Camouflage Schemes.

In 1987 an Italian After Market Manufacturer MISTERKIT researched and developed such a line of 66 Acrylic Colors based on Nationality and in some cases even branch of Service specifically matched to WWI Aircraft. Where ever possible throughout Europe the actual original surviving Aircraft were sampled and best available research was used to create these ACFT Colors.

Since then this Unique WWI Line of Colors have been well known, respected and widely available in Italian and European Markets.

The dominance of Major Hobby Paint Manufacturers over the U.S. market place, combined with the high cost of importing have kept the existence of these Colors here in the United States hitherto little known.

Dealing with World War I colours is not an easy task. It is very difficult to locate reliable, original fabric samples, and even when it is possible it is necessary to keep in mind that they are more than 80 years old and they probably suffered not only aging from time but also by weather.

In addition, the shade of paints supplied to factories and front line units or repairing depots frequently varied, as not all producers supplied exactly identical shades.

Moreover, the paints used during the Great War usually suffered badly from the natural elements, so that the modeller who wishes to reproduce a machine at the front could never be really sure about the real machine's true colour shade.

Of course, this is not to suggest that almost any colours will do, far from it, but, as experts usually say, it is useless to be too pedantic about World War I colour shades: the best which can be done is to supply the enthusiast with reliable and well researched shades, which not only can be applied to the model as they are, but which can also form the ideal basis from which to start to get one's favourite shade.

This is what we have strived to achieve with the WWI ACFT Color Series. MisterKit World War I ACFT colours are based on the best possible published references and on some of the actual original WWI fabric samples available. The collection can be easily mixed with other acrylic paints to get even more different varying shades, to suit every modeller's tastes.

MISTERKIT U.S. DISTRIBUTOR:
First and Foremost allow me to beg your indulgence regarding the simplicity of this site.

I am not a Hobby Store nor Large Web Based Retailer.
I am a WWI Aviation Enthusiast/Modeller whom enjoys buying, building and displaying WWI Aircraft Models.

I am primarily a Full time Professional Airline Pilot flying for a National Ultra Low Cost Carrier, to the Carribean, South and Central Americas, Spirit Airlines.

The goal of this site is not for profiteering in of itself.  It is to develope a self-sustaining Market for these Unique WWI Hobby Products which otherwise would not be readily available here in the U.S.

In large part profiteering in the Past combined with the high costs of importing, marketing, and retailing have been the very reason why this product has not already achieved widespread distribution and recognition amoung Commerical Hobby Distributors & Retailers.

These paints as well as many other unique aftermarket parts, photo-etch, decals and resin kits are produced by MISTERKIT of Italy.

MISTERKIT is an Italian based Manufacturer and Web based retailer who primarily serves  the Italian and European Markets.  They also produce their own extensive line of Acrylic Color Paints.

I have chosen to feature their exclusive Line of W.W. I ACFT Colors for the very fact that since the release of the very first 1958 Revell 1/28 WWI Series planes there has never been a line of Colors Specifically made for W.W. I Aviation easily available here in the United States.

Authentic Colors such as British Doped PC10 and later in the Great War PC12 have stumped and Stymied many a average modeler often preventing them from ever even attempting a W.W.I Aircraft build.

W.W.I Aviation is one of the last few grossly under represented subjects in our Hobby.  If I can in any way promote growth in this area by providing easy access for the U.S. market to this great line of colors then I will have achieved success.

I have gone to great lengths to detail the actual cost per unit in bringing you this line of paints.  Some modern ordering  features we so readily take for granted while shopping on line today  often inrease your costs and therefore do not offer them.

The purpose of this site is to simply provide an avenue for U.S. Direct Mail Order sales for a GREAT Product which otherwise might not ever be seen in  the US Market.
